Why we exist

The LEVEL Foundation exists to change a childs life early, confidently, and for the long term. Too many children with dyslexia are spotted too late and supported too little. By the time help arrives, confidence has often taken a hit. Thats not the childs fault its a system problem. LEVEL was created to help fix it.

10–15% of the population is dyslexic
Up to 40% of people in the UK prison population are dyslexic
Only around 2% of dyslexic pupils are formally identified in many school systems
Adults with dyslexia are twice as likely to experience anxiety and depression
With the right support, dyslexic individuals perform at the same level as non-dyslexic peers

Jack's story

I grew up believing I was stupid.

At school, I became the class clown, using humour to hide how much I was struggling. Thats the reality for too many children with dyslexia identified too late, misunderstood for too long, labelled before theyre supported. By the time help comes, confidence is already damaged. I was lucky. My parents fought to get me the right support. But for them it was confusing, exhausting and expensive. I dont want any child to feel stupid. I dont want any parent to feel guilty because they cant afford help. The LEVEL Foundation exists to make sure children get support before they lose belief in themselves.

I was told I was stupid. If fighting for childrens confidence is stupid, Im okay with that.

Building understanding & removing fear

We begin with an engaging, age-appropriate school assembly, led by Jack or one of our Ambassadors, designed to help children understand that everyone learns differently and that assessments are simply a way to support their learning — nothing to be afraid of.
